Where Do I Find Inspiration?

One of the most frequently asked questions I receive is - 

Where do you find inspiration…

To this I answer ADVENTURE!

Early in my career I would lean towards fashion as my muse, but now it is my travels that most inspire me.

During a trip to Italy, this past summer, I was inspired to write this post and I hope you will enjoy- 

Let me share with you a true “pinch me” moment:

As I write this I am overlooking the mediterranean sea at a gorgeous seaside villa with tourists and hikers on the trail at my back. The seagulls are flying overhead and screeching swallows are interrupting the sounds of the crashing waves below. This is something I have dreamt of for as long as I can remember.

The inspiration is endless. The water shimmers in varying shades of blue while the homes and rooftops stand bold in colors of terracotta, salmon and saffron.

Watching the tourists arrive in droves by ferry, I anxiously await their departure so that I may enjoy the solitude that the locals do. Strolling through the streets past gelatorias, and stopping for a scoop every once and a while, too.

Okay, so it may have been a bit more than just once in a while… 

Inspiration is all around, you just have to look, listen and be open to new experiences.
